Our Body a Sacred Temple

I trust you had a wonderful holiday filled with good home cooked food, family, friends and parties.  It’s now 2012! Happy New Year!

This is a great time to take inventory of your life and give thanks for all that you are, all that you have, for family, friends, gifts and all that you have in your life. Have you have taken the time to honor your body for all that it does for you? How many of you have taken the time to treat the body as the gift that it is? You must remember to honor your most precious gift, your sacred temple.

This year as this New Year starts I invite you to take time to care for your sacred temple. First ask yourself these questions:

· Am I experiencing optimum healthy?

· What are my health goals for this year?

· What action do I need to take to achieve optimal health?

· What am I willing to do (or give up) to improve my health?

Take time out of your day to take control of your health. The body is a miraculous self healing machine; it knows what to do however it needs a little cooperation from us. It was Hippocrates the father of medicine who said “Let food be your medicine, and let medicine be your food.” From the beginning of medicine it was known that food was the biggest component in fueling and healing the body.

How do you determine if you are healthy?

A healthy body is free of pain. Healthy is experiencing health on a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level. If you are always in pain, on various prescription drugs, constantly going on doctor’s appointments, I strongly suggest you take a health audit.  Start with your hair, if it is breaking usually it’s a sign that something more is going on in the body.  Hair is an indicator of health. It tells a story and gives insight as to what is going on overall. The only way one can ever take control of their health is to first take the time to find out what causing the problem.  Most physical breakdown that takes root in the body stands from our nutrition or our lack of it. Remember Health is true Wealth.

Health Tip

Use this mantra: I love my body, starting now I nourish it from the inside out with the best quality food available to me; I have the awareness that the right food will produce energy, vital health, radiance, mental clarity. I will do my best to care for my body and strengthen it without judgment; I love myself just the way I am.

Next week I will share some recipes with you to get you started.

This original diet, given by God to mankind, contained no animal flesh or dairy, no refined sugars or grains, no hydrogenated oils, no refined foods, no cooked foods, no chemical additives, and no artificial anything.

It is the foundation upon which I compared everything I was learning. If it fit and agreed with what God told us we should consume as fuel in Genesis 1:29, I pursued it further – but if it didn’t – I cast it aside as not worthy of consideration.
